Loan Officer

About the role

The Loan Officer will be the frontline of in24's micro‑asset finance business, responsible for appraising, disbursing and monitoring individual loans for agricultural and rural clients. The role focuses on building trusted relationships while maintaining a healthy loan portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with clients, ensuring a positive experience at every touchpoint.
• Conduct loan appraisals through phone interviews, reference checks and CRB checks, and assess repayment capacity using farm, business and household cash‑flow analysis.
• Prepare credit analyses, present recommendations to the credit committee and disburse approved loans with clear repayment schedules.
• Monitor portfolio quality, follow up with clients regularly and intervene early on at‑risk accounts to keep Portfolio at Risk (PAR) within targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Microfinance, Agriculture, Economics, Education or related field (diploma with strong experience considered).
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in individual micro‑lending, including loan appraisal, disbursement, monitoring and collections, preferably with agricultural clients.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and numeracy skills for cash‑flow analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Office, mobile data tools and MIS platforms.
