Entry-Level Staff Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an entry‑level Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Kamwokya. You will support client bookkeeping, payroll, tax filing and financial reporting while gaining hands‑on experience under senior accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions and classify them in QuickBooks (Online/Desktop).
• Manage bank feeds, reconcile bank and credit‑card statements monthly, and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare data for senior staff to generate monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Process payroll entries, file quarterly payroll reports (Form 941) and assist with year‑end W‑2 processing.
• Handle annual 1099 reporting and prepare/submit sales‑tax returns for clients.
• Communicate with clients to obtain missing documents, answer coding questions, and provide status updates.
• Collaborate with senior accountants on projects, attend internal meetings and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or candidate with basic accounting knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client accounts.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
