Accountant

About the role

Igongo Country Hotel and Cultural Center is hiring a full-time Accountant in Kamwokya, Uganda. The role covers day-to-day cash and accounts management, support of financial statements and audits, and compliance with taxation policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage revenues received and dispersed, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and general ledger reporting.
• Handle cash operations and reconcile daily deposits; assist in preparing monthly financial statements, tax returns and audits.
• Support budget preparation, inventory and year-end audit processes, and reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions and city ledger accounts.
• Maintain accurate accounting databases, ensure compliance with taxation policies, provide timely billing, follow up on collections and resolve discrepancies.
• Uphold company health, safety and security standards while delivering attentive, proactive and responsive customer service.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA/ACCA Level 2 qualification is required.
• Previous experience in hospitality finance is an added advantage.
