Finance and Budget Officer (Cost Recovery)

About the role

The Finance and Budget Officer (Cost Recovery) is a professional position within the United Nations Regional Service Centre (RSCE) in Entebbe, Uganda. The RSCE provides end‑to‑end operational support to UN entities, including finance, human resources, and logistics. The RSCE was established in 2010 following a General Assembly resolution to move transactional, non‑location‑dependent administrative functions from field entities to a central hub, aiming to improve efficiency and cost‑effectiveness for UN operations worldwide. In this role, the officer will contribute to the budgeting and cost‑recovery functions that enable the Centre to deliver efficient, client‑oriented services across the UN system. The position is situated in the front office of the Deputy Director, ensuring close interaction with senior management and the Budget Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Works in the front office of the Deputy Director of the Regional Service Centre in Entebbe.
• Collaborates closely with the Budget Unit and other key stakeholders.
• Reports directly to the Deputy Director RSCE.
