Internal Debt Collector

About the role

SimplePay Capital Uganda Ltd is looking for motivated Internal Debt Collectors to join its Recovery Team. You will engage clients with overdue loan accounts, negotiate repayment plans and help protect the company’s loan portfolio across Uganda.

Key responsibilities

• Contact clients with overdue accounts via phone, SMS, digital platforms and field visits.
• Negotiate structured repayment arrangements in line with company policy and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, commitments and recovery outcomes.
• Monitor assigned accounts, flag high‑risk cases and collaborate with Branch Managers, Operations and Legal teams.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly recovery reports highlighting performance and outstanding balances.

Required profile

• At least one year of proven experience in debt collection, loan recovery or micro‑finance collections.
• Strong communication, persuasion and negotiation abilities.
• Resilient, patient and able to handle difficult client conversations.
• Target‑driven mindset with a track record of meeting recovery targets.
• High integrity, attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with CRM systems and digital communication tools.
