Graduate Management Trainee - Tax

About the role

The Graduate Management Trainee will work closely with the Head of Tax to ensure the organisation meets its tax compliance and reporting obligations. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on experience in tax computations, reconciliations, reporting and anti‑money‑laundering processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax paid schedules and ensure timely filing of tax returns to avoid penalties.
• Perform tax ledger reconciliations, including balance‑sheet substantiation, WHT deductions, and reinsurance payments.
• Reconcile EFRIS sales, premium registers, and stamp duty against accounting records, coordinating with IT and underwriting teams.
• Support half‑year and full‑year tax reporting, review tax packs, update tax payment systems, and draft income‑tax and deferred‑tax computations.
• Maintain a tax risk and issues tracker, identify root causes, and escalate significant risks to the Head of Tax.
• Assist in developing tax‑saving strategies while complying with legal requirements.
• Execute AML, KYC, and sanctions compliance duties, including customer due diligence and data quality monitoring.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a strong interest in tax, finance or related fields.
• Ability to support the Head of Tax and work collaboratively with finance, IT and underwriting teams.
• Attention to detail and willingness to follow regulatory deadlines.
