Head of Programs

About the role

IsraAID Uganda is seeking a senior leader to provide strategic oversight of its multi‑sectoral programmes, including WASH, Nutrition and Child Protection, across all field locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead programme planning, design, implementation and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organisational standards.
• Supervise senior programme officers, manage performance, coordinate team meetings and support recruitment for programme positions.
• Maintain donor relations, prepare narrative reports, represent IsraAID in coordination forums and contribute to proposal development and resource mobilisation.
• Oversee budgeting, monitor budget utilisation, manage risk registers and ensure compliance with national regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of humanitarian/programme experience, with at least 3 years in senior management.
• Proven experience managing multi‑sectoral programmes in refugee or displacement settings.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise field‑based teams and engage with government, UN agencies and donors.

Required skills

• Project cycle management (design, implementation, monitoring, close‑out).
• MEAL systems development and data utilisation.
• Budget management and financial oversight of grants.
• Proposal and concept‑note writing, donor reporting.
• Safeguarding/PSEA knowledge and risk identification/mitigation.
• Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
