History and Christian Religious Education Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated History and Christian Religious Education (CRE) teacher to join AsOne High School’s secondary department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons to O‑Level and A‑Level students, preparing them for national examinations and fostering moral and civic values.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver History and CRE lessons in line with the UNEB syllabus and national curriculum.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment schedules for assigned classes.
• Use diverse teaching methods such as storytelling, debates, role‑play and source analysis to meet varied learning styles.
• Set, administer and mark tests, assignments and examinations, providing timely feedback.
• Monitor student performance, identify gaps and provide remedial support or extra tuition as needed.
• Lead devotions, chapel services and Bible study sessions, mentoring students in moral and spiritual development.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments and continuous evaluation.
• Contribute to budgeting and procurement of textbooks, Bibles, maps and teaching aids.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of teaching experience at secondary level.
• Familiarity with the Ugandan national curriculum and UNEB examination requirements.
• Commitment to a Christ‑centered educational environment.
• Ability to mentor students in both academic and spiritual growth.
