About the role
The Immunology Laboratory Technician will support laboratory operations, assist with student practicals and contribute to research and consultancy activities at Makerere University.
Key responsibilities
- Implement guidelines and regulations to ensure safety in the workplace.
- Maintain equipment and facilities in functional condition.
- Assist in the preparation of students’ practicals, industrial training, internship and fieldwork.
- Participate in research and consultancy for best practices.
- Implement standard operating procedures in the workplace.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required profile
- Honours Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Immunology or Molecular Biology.
- At least 3 years’ experience working in Medical Immunology or Molecular Biology laboratories.
Required skills
- Proficiency in using laboratory machines and computers.
