Interim Head of Engineering – Battery & Energy Storage

About the role

Allied Talent Partners (ATP) is seeking an Interim Head of Engineering to steer the engineering function through a critical scale‑up phase. The role will oversee R&D, product development, and manufacturing support, ensuring seamless delivery and continuous improvement of battery and energy‑storage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day engineering execution across product development, R&D, and manufacturing support.
• Ensure timely delivery of product refinements, production support, troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution.
• Align R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to meet production output, quality, and performance targets.
• Drive process optimisation, yield enhancement, and defect reduction for manufacturing scale‑up.
• Implement engineering governance, technical prioritisation, and documentation to improve execution consistency.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and operational support while contributing to long‑term capability development.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering functions in battery, energy‑storage, or related manufacturing environments.
• Track record of managing engineering delivery in high‑growth or scaling operations.
• Experience overseeing both product development and manufacturing support activities.
• Ability to bridge applied R&D with production teams effectively.
• Demonstrated success improving engineering processes and governance.
