Lead Investigator - Security Services, Uganda

About the role

GardaWorld Uganda is looking for a Lead Investigator based in Bugolobi, Kampala, within its Security Services business unit. You will be responsible for the full incident and investigation process, as directed by the relevant SOIs, reporting administratively to the Uganda Country Manager and functionally to the Uganda C&A / HSE Lead. Travel across Uganda is required.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out incident investigations impartially, fairly and professionally, in line with the Incident & Investigations SOIs, the GW Human Rights policy and the investigation formula (scene visit, evidence collection, questioning of witnesses and suspects, recording of statements, reporting and review).
• Use the latest investigation forms downloaded from GW UIP, with correct font, size and colour, and ensure witness forms are used with thorough questioning.
• Ensure all incidents requiring investigation are investigated, and maintain the investigation register.
• Deliver incident and investigation reports within the 24-hour and 10-day timelines, conduct a monthly general investigation review, attend Serious Incident After Action Reviews and review reports before distribution.
• Visit local police, councils and authorities where needed, attend investigation, compliance meetings, trainings and seminars, and attend follow-up report meetings on behalf of GW.
• Ensure recommendations are SMART, file insurance claim forms and act under authority delegated by the Country Manager.

Required profile

• Fluent English speaker.
• Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in investigations, and experience in the security industry and/or police force as an investigator.
• Understanding of GardaWorld investigation principles and the business management system; investigations/security qualifications advantageous.
• Open to travel for investigations and able to work under pressure.
