About the role
The Manager, Data Systems & IT will own Spark's data ecosystem, designing collection platforms, databases and visualisation dashboards while ensuring data security across multiple countries.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain database structures and data flows, ensuring a single version of the truth.
- Lead the organisation's IT strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor management.
- Oversee data quality assurance, monitoring, and the creation of core organisational dashboards.
- Manage and develop product and IT teams across Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi and Ghana.
Required profile
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and multi‑country IT environments.
- Experience with data integration (ETL) and data visualisation tools.
Required skills
- Python, PowerShell scripting.
- SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
- ETL processes and data integration tools.
- Tableau, Power BI, Zoho Analytics.
- GIS (or willingness to learn).
- Windows, Linux and cloud server management.
- Networking, cybersecurity and data protection regulations.
