Senior Java Backend Engineer

About the role

ABC is looking for a senior software engineer to design, develop and maintain secure, high‑availability back‑end services that power its agent banking platform. You will work independently on complex features, own critical technical issues and mentor junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Java EE / Spring Boot microservices, RESTful APIs and integrations with payment systems.
• Build, containerise and deploy services on Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift using CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage APIs through gateways (routing, authentication, rate‑limiting, versioning).
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies, communicate progress and risks, and lead technical design discussions.
• Monitor production health, troubleshoot incidents and maintain runbooks and documentation.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of back‑end development experience, with 2+ years delivering production microservices.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently and mentor others.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
