Marketing Manager

About the role

Britam is hiring a Marketing Manager in Kampala to develop and oversee the company's marketing strategy, drive demand generation and manage its brand and digital presence. The role also covers product launch planning, budget management and insight gathering for sales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic marketing plans and oversee all marketing initiatives.
• Develop promotional materials, product positioning and messaging, and support sales teams with value propositions and marketing tools.
• Lead research, assessment and coordination of new product development, and plan product launches and releases.
• Take overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity, and strengthen brand positioning and customer value proposition.
• Manage the marketing budget and monitor competitor activity across digital, print and electronic platforms.
• Provide consumer, category and brand insights, and conduct analysis on loss accounts to recommend retention improvements.
• Manage the company's digital presence and media strategy, and maintain internal communication on marketing objectives.
• Deliver on the departmental strategy map, balanced scorecard and personal scorecard objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related field; professional qualification in Marketing (CIM).
• 5 to 7 years of experience in the financial services industry, including at least 2 to 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience in marketing or corporate affairs is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Sales and marketing management skills.

• General knowledge of general insurance systems, processes and procedures.
• Computer literacy.
