Nursery Teacher – Early Childhood Education

About the role

As a Nursery Teacher with AsOne Ministries, you will nurture the spiritual, social, physical and academic growth of young children in line with Uganda's Early Childhood Development curriculum. You will create a safe, loving and stimulating environment where children can explore, learn and thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver play‑based, age‑appropriate lessons covering language, literacy, numeracy, environmental studies, creative arts, religious education and health.
• Develop foundational language and pre‑literacy skills through storytelling, rhymes, songs and picture reading.
• Introduce early numeracy concepts such as counting, number recognition, sorting, shapes and patterns using hands‑on activities.
• Guide children in exploring their community and environment, fostering awareness of people, places and safety.
• Facilitate creative activities like drawing, modelling, music and dance to nurture imagination.
• Integrate Christian values and Bible stories into daily routines.
• Support fine and gross motor development through structured play and outdoor activities.
• Utilise locally available teaching aids and real objects to enhance learning.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification with at least 24 months of relevant teaching experience.
• Commitment to the professional code of conduct for educators.
• Ability to provide a safe, caring and inclusive classroom environment.
