About the role
The Uganda Heart Institute is hiring a Nursing Officer in Kampala to provide safe, comprehensive and patient-centred cardiac nursing care. The role covers assessment, monitoring, treatment, health education, disease prevention and continuity of care, working with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key responsibilities
- Perform nursing administrative and clinical duties.
- Ensure high-quality nursing care through adherence to nursing protocols.
- Keep wards and units running smoothly by allocating duties to junior nursing staff.
- Make sure wards are adequately stocked with equipment, supplies and drugs, kept under safe custody.
- Provide educational and counselling services to patients and their families.
- Conduct performance appraisals of subordinate staff.
- Adhere to the professional code of ethics and conduct.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognised university.
- Registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Valid practicing license.
