Part‑Time After‑School Teacher & Assistant

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic part‑time teachers and assistants to support our after‑school program at The Main Street Academy in Kamwokya, Uganda. The role involves supervising students, providing homework help, and delivering enrichment activities in a safe, organized environment. The schedule runs Monday‑Thursday for homework assistance and Friday for enrichment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise students throughout the program in line with policies and procedures.
• Organise students into homework and activity groups each day.
• Assist students with homework, check completed work and provide guidance.
• Plan, research and conduct enrichment activities, and circulate among students during sessions.
• Escort students to activity locations, restrooms and pick‑up areas as needed.
• Take daily attendance, record snack distribution and complete related reports.
• Maintain a clean work environment and manage supplies and equipment.
• Support the Program Director with various program tasks.
• Assist the lead teacher and fill in for the lead teacher when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to assist K‑8 students with homework and enrichment activities.
• Experience working with children in after‑school, summer camp or tutoring settings.
