About the role
The Uganda Heart Institute is looking for a driver for its passenger buses in Kampala. The driver is responsible for safe driving and the maintenance of the Institute's passenger buses.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the Institute's passenger buses safely on the assigned routes.
- Transport goods or materials as instructed from time to time.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the vehicles.
- Report to the Assistant Secretary on the condition of the vehicles and when servicing is due.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance on the vehicles.
- Keep and safeguard all vehicle documents, spare parts and the tool box.
- Check and report any faulty mechanical conditions to the responsible officer.
Required profile
- O-Level certificate with at least 3 credits.
- Valid Class DE driving licence; at least five years of driving experience with a Group B licence or above, and must pass a driving test.
- Certificate of defensive driving.
- Ability to lift heavy luggage and materials.
