Procurement Manager

About the role

The East African Development Bank (EADB) is recruiting a Procurement Manager in Kampala, reporting to the Senior Director Human Resources and Administration. The role supports oversight of the Bank's procurement function so that goods, services and works are procured in a timely, cost-effective, transparent and compliant way. It also builds the Bank's data and analytics capability so that strategy rests on reliable evidence.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise procurement activities and advise departments on procurement planning
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, donor guidelines and applicable laws
• Oversee procurement operations, contract management and asset disposal
• Manage compliance and risk, supervise staff and build their capacity
• Contribute to building the Bank's data and analytics capability

Required profile

• Masters degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is also acceptable
• CIPS, CPSP or equivalent professional certification, and membership in a recognised procurement professional body
• At least 7 years of relevant procurement experience, including 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Experience in public procurement or donor-funded institutions is an added advantage
