Post‑Doc Fellow – Environmental History

About the role

The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is seeking a Post‑Doc Fellow in Environmental History to lead cutting‑edge research on natural resource management. The role involves collaborative work across regions, contributing to high‑impact publications and influencing policy dialogues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scientific guidance ensuring research concepts and methods meet the highest standards.
• Collaborate with theme coordinators to define and implement emerging research activities.
• Write, supervise, and disseminate peer‑reviewed publications and scientific communications.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives and mentor junior scientists and students.
• Represent CIFOR in national, regional, and global forums on forest governance.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders and pursue additional research funding.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline with a strong publication record.
• Experience in collaborative natural‑resource management or social‑science research.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and donor reporting.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, proposal development, and resource mobilization.
