Process Operator

About the role

Join AB InBev’s Mbarara Brew facility as a Process Operator, responsible for safely operating and maintaining defined brewing process areas, equipment and related processes to achieve optimal effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Attend safety briefings, review MES data, receive shift handovers and apply 5S principles.
• Monitor brewing parameters (brewhouse, cellars, filtration) and fermentation vessel conditions, including temperature, yeast activity and extract analyses.
• Perform Cleaning‑in‑Place (CIP) for tanks, vessels and pipelines, and manage steam system operations.
• Conduct basic maintenance such as valve changes, equipment inspections and routine walk‑abouts to detect early issues.
• Capture lab, filtration and tank data into the MES, track KPI metrics and report deviations.
• Use root‑cause tools (PFR, 5 Why, PTCA) to troubleshoot and coordinate with specialists for issue resolution.

Required profile

• National Diploma or higher in Food Science, Industrial Chemistry or Engineering.
• At least 2 years experience in a Food & Beverage or production environment.
• Hardworking, honest, self‑motivated and able to work in shifts.
• Dynamic team player with high integrity, attention to detail and a curious, bold mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MES/digital brew sheets and data entry.
• Experience performing CIP and steam‑system operations.
• Ability to conduct AE (Apparent Extract) and OE (Original Extract) analyses.
• Basic mechanical maintenance skills, including valve changes and equipment inspections.
• Root‑cause analysis using PFR, 5 Why and PTCA methodologies.
