Product Manager - Assets

About the role

Absa is looking for a Product Manager - Assets in Kampala to manage the Assets product ranges for Retail and Business Banking customers. The role keeps the business competitive while helping it achieve its stated income targets.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend and implement new product developments and enhancements, and act as the main point of contact for product issues with local sales and marketing teams.
• Review competitors' products and pricing, and coordinate a uniform tariff for retail customers.
• Manage interest rate changes in line with central guidelines and governance, and monitor adherence to the agreed pricing strategy.
• Build business cases, run local product testing and plan the implementation of new products.
• Give notice of product and price changes to regulators and the public, and liaise with operations centres on profitability and customer complaints.
• Coach and coordinate staff, agree annual objectives, and support training and sales strategies.
• Ensure governance, compliance, risk and control are followed, and carry out product legal and regulatory assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required).
