Disbursement Assistant (Finance & Audit Management)

About the role

AGL, a multimodal logistics operator part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Disbursement Assistant within its Finance & Audit Management function. The post is a fixed-term contract based in Uganda and covers the organisation of disbursement files, their financial analysis and the preparation of the monthly disbursement committee.

Key responsibilities

• Classify files: analyse accounting balances and remind operations controllers about files not secured or in debit so they can be archived and classified.
• Analyse financially secured (classified) files: allocate debtor and creditor file analysis across departments, apply best practice to assess profitability, and review disbursement movements per department each month.
• Manage relationships with internal customers and suppliers, defining working rules and information sharing with the Operational Disbursement Controller and Operations, including schedules and nominated contacts.
• Prepare the monthly disbursement committee: lead the management-level committee for arbitration and risk analysis, prepare reports and supporting documents, update the action plan and produce other weekly reports as assigned.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting position.
• Knowledge of freight forwarding and logistics activities.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent communication.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
