Project Officer, Livelihoods (Temporary Cover)

About the role

The Project Officer will support the DRIVE project in West Nile, Uganda, focusing on strengthening local food systems through climate‑smart agriculture and livelihood interventions. Based at the Rhino Camp office, the role involves day‑to‑day planning and implementation of activities that mobilise and train smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement ZOA activities under the DRIVE project in Terego and Madi Okollo districts.
• Mobilise and train farmers using the Participatory Integrated Plan (PIP) approach.
• Supervise farmer‑to‑farmer training to scale up the PIP methodology.
• Facilitate linkages between farmers and viable market opportunities.
• Coordinate with other ZOA livelihoods teams to ensure integrated support for project participants.
• Report on progress, challenges and results to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Experience in implementing livelihoods or agriculture‑related projects.
• Ability to work in the West Nile region and travel to project sites.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for working with farmers, partners and internal teams.
