Reefer Technician – Maintenance & Cold Storage

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Reefer Technician to install, maintain and repair refrigeration and cold‑storage equipment at our site‑based operations. The role ensures reliable temperature control for food safety, medical supplies and other critical processes while complying with health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission reefer units, cold rooms and related temperature control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, check refrigerant levels, clean filters, coils and drainage systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults such as temperature fluctuations, leaks and electrical issues, responding promptly to breakdowns.
• Monitor temperature logs, alarm systems and maintain accurate maintenance records to meet food safety and OHS requirements.
• Manage tools, spare parts and refrigerant inventory, reporting stock needs to the supervisor.
• Coordinate with catering, stores and logistics teams to ensure proper storage conditions and support other maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Refrigeration & Air‑Conditioning or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience with refrigeration, cold rooms or reefer systems; experience in food or medical cold‑chain environments is a plus.
• Willingness to work in remote/site locations and to be on shift or standby as required.
• Commitment to adhere to HSE policies and safe refrigerant handling.
