Regional HR Manager – EMEA

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Regional HR Manager to lead and scale its HR team across the EMEA region. You will ensure precise, compliant HR operations while partnering closely with the broader People team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale the regional HR team, delivering accurate HR operations.
• Collaborate with the People team to create cohesive processes across all regions.
• Own HR processes such as talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, and engagement initiatives.
• Partner with senior managers on performance management, organizational design, rewards, and workforce planning.
• Coach people managers on employee relations issues across multiple countries.
• Support delivery of training and development programs.
• Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• Design new policies and deliver business‑critical HR projects globally.

Required profile

• Exceptional academic record from high school and university.
• HR experience leading initiatives across regions in a technology business.
• People‑management experience and business partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Hands‑on involvement in daily HR routines.
• Experience in a remote‑first organization.
• Data‑driven decision‑making ability.
• Fluent in business English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel up to four times a year.

Required skills

• Knowledge and practical implementation of HR practices and employment law across EMEA.
• Experience handling complex employee‑relations matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Nice‑to‑have: immigration policy and mobility process experience.
• Professional HR qualification (CIPD/SHRM or equivalent) is a plus.
• Facilitation skills.
