Registered Nurse

About the role

The Registered Nurse will join the health team at the Namutumba Community clinic, providing direct patient care and supporting the Clinical Officer in delivering primary health services. The role starts in January 2027 and is full‑time, onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, triage and assess patients, recording vital signs, histories and clinical observations.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, immunizations and perform basic procedures such as wound care and dressing changes.
• Support antenatal, postnatal, child health, immunization and family planning services.
• Assist in emergency care, stabilize patients and refer cases as needed.
• Educate patients and caregivers on disease prevention, medication use and self‑care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and complete regular nursing reports for the Clinic Manager and health authorities.
• Monitor and manage stock of medicines, vaccines and supplies, participating in ordering and inventory checks.
• Ensure strict infection prevention and control, including safe handling of sharps and waste.
• Assist with scheduling appointments, home visits and follow‑up care, and support audit and inspection preparation.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification.
• Minimum 24 months of clinical nursing experience.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Clinical Officer.
• Willingness to provide holistic care, including emotional and spiritual support.
