Roving Consultant – Climate Resilience and Finance

About the role

The Roving Consultant – Climate Resilience and Finance is a part‑time, hybrid position that supports clients in embedding climate‑resilient strategies into their financial planning and investment decisions. You will work across sectors, providing analytical insight and practical guidance to ensure projects are both financially viable and climate‑smart.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial and climate risk analyses for client portfolios and development programs.
• Develop and model climate‑resilient financing structures and investment scenarios.
• Prepare and present concise reports, briefs, and recommendations to diverse client audiences.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement climate‑related projects.
• Provide technical advisory support and capacity‑building workshops for partner organisations.
• Undertake field visits, stakeholder engagements, and contribute to strategic roadmaps aligning climate resilience with sustainable development goals.

Required profile

• Strong finance and financial planning background, including budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to assess climate risks and translate findings into actionable financial insights.
• Consulting experience in development, climate resilience, or impact finance, with proven stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fundamental accounting knowledge for interpreting financial statements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Development Studies, Environmental Studies or related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• Willingness to travel, work on‑site, and operate in diverse, cross‑cultural environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
