SACCO Manager

About the role

The SACCO Manager will lead the strategic direction and operational performance of the cooperative, ensuring growth in membership, savings, revenue and profitability while maintaining strong financial discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of strategic and annual business plans, driving membership growth, savings, revenue and profitability.
• Develop and launch new financial products and services tailored to members’ needs and expand the SACCO’s reach through direct and associate member recruitment.
• Prepare, approve and monitor annual budgets, manage cash flow, liquidity and investment strategies, and ensure accurate financial reporting to the Board.
• Oversee credit portfolio quality, maintain Portfolio at Risk within targets, and strengthen loan recovery processes.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships and promote the SACCO’s brand to enhance visibility and reputation.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of senior‑level experience in banking, finance or cooperative management.
• Proven track record of achieving growth targets in membership, savings, and revenue.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, cash‑flow management and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in credit risk management and loan portfolio oversight.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
