Sales Administrator

About the role

The Sales Administrator supports the sales team by keeping all sales systems accurate and up to date, ensuring foot soldiers and retail shops are correctly set up, agreements are closed on time, stock in the assigned region is verified and moving, and field issues are resolved quickly. The role links the field sales team with the back office and is based on site in Kampala.

Key responsibilities

• Create new foot soldiers and retail shops on all systems, with complete, accurate and consistent records.
• Clean up system records regularly, removing duplicates, inactive accounts and incorrect details so reporting data is reliable.
• Follow up pending agreements and ensure they are closed within 48 hours.
• Check in weekly with retail attendants, resolving issues on the spot or escalating them immediately if needed.
• Track aged stock, verify stock for the assigned region and flag slow-moving and unaccounted devices to management.
• Respond promptly to escalations from the field and keep the reporter updated until the issue is closed.
• Perform other duties assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Sales, Commerce or a related field.
• At least 1 to 2 years of experience in sales administration, sales support or operations, preferably in device financing, telecoms, retail or distribution.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Good follow-up and time management, able to work to tight deadlines.
• Problem-solving ability and confidence to resolve issues on the spot.
• Clear communication with field teams, retail attendants and management, and responsible handling of confidential information.
• Team player who can also work independently.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Comfort using ERP or sales systems.
