Salesperson - Insurance Agency

About the role

An insurance agency is hiring a full-time, on-site Salesperson in Kampala, reporting to the Insurance Agency Manager within the Sales and Marketing department. The Salesperson identifies and pursues new business, generates leads and builds a pipeline of potential clients for the agency's insurance and marketing services.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with prospective and existing clients and present tailored service offerings
• Prepare proposals and quotations and negotiate contracts
• Maintain regular contact with clients to understand their needs
• Coordinate with internal teams so services are delivered smoothly
• Track sales performance against targets
• Take part in networking events, industry functions and client meetings to strengthen relationships and promote the agency's brand

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales, business development or account management, preferably in advertising, marketing or related services
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field is preferred
• Familiarity with the Kampala market and strong local networking skills

Required skills

• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships and manage several accounts at once
• Comfortable setting and meeting sales targets, using CRM or sales tracking tools and reporting on performance
• Basic understanding of marketing and advertising concepts; interest in digital and traditional media is an advantage
• Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently while collaborating with internal teams
