Sales Executive – Travel & Tours

About the role

Tico Travel and Safaris Ltd, a travel and tour company offering itineraries, air ticketing, hotel bookings, safaris, visas and more, is hiring a full-time, on-site Sales Executive in Kampala. The role converts qualified leads into confirmed bookings, builds lasting client relationships and meets a monthly revenue target of UGX 30+ million.

Key responsibilities

• Generate 20+ qualified leads per month across Uganda and East Africa through outbound calls, emails, social media and networking, and build a sales pipeline
• Turn inquiries into bookings with a 40% conversion target, prepare quotations and proposals, negotiate prices and process bookings end to end
• Achieve the monthly revenue target, promote premium packages and group tours, and forecast revenue and pipeline value
• Maintain a 100% client retention rate, conduct pre- and post-travel check-ins, resolve issues and keep client records in the CRM
• Answer client inquiries within 1 hour during business hours and coordinate with operations, guides and partners
• Track lead sources, monitor competitor pricing and share market intelligence with the BDE and marketing team

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, Marketing or a related field preferred
• Previous experience in travel agency sales, tour operations or hospitality sales is an added advantage
• Willingness to work on-site in Kampala, with flexibility for occasional extended hours or weekends

Required skills

• Knowledge of travel services such as air ticketing, hotel booking, safaris and international tours
• Proficiency with common office software for managing inquiries, quotations and client data
• Strong sales, negotiation and customer relationship management skills
