Sales Specialist - Microfinance

About the role

Platinum Credit Limited, a microfinance company licensed in Kenya, is hiring a full-time, on-site Sales Specialist in Kampala. The role involves identifying and engaging prospective clients, explaining product offerings and guiding customers through loan applications and onboarding. It sits alongside the customer service team and includes participation in sales campaigns and training new team members.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage prospective clients and explain product offerings
• Guide customers through loan application and onboarding processes
• Conduct regular follow-ups and keep accurate records of leads and conversions
• Work closely with the customer service team to ensure a positive client experience
• Take part in sales campaigns and support training sessions for new team members on product knowledge and sales techniques
• Provide market feedback to help refine sales strategies
• Meet performance targets, sell ethically and follow company policies and regulatory requirements

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field is preferred
• Prior experience in sales or financial services is preferred
• Ability to work on-site in Kampala, manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication and active listening
• Customer service and client relationship management
• Sales skills: prospecting, negotiation and closing deals in a target-driven environment
• Experience training or mentoring colleagues on products, processes or sales techniques
• Knowledge of sales management practices such as pipeline tracking, reporting and performance monitoring
• A basic understanding of financial products or banking/microfinance services is an advantage
