Senior Accreditation Officer – Health Education & Training

About the role

The Senior Accreditation Officer (Health) will coordinate and implement accreditation processes for TVET providers and programmes in the health sector, ensuring compliance with the TVET Act, 2025 and related standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary reviews of accreditation applications and assess compliance with staffing, facilities, laboratories, workshops and equipment requirements.
• Lead on‑site accreditation assessment visits, prepare technical reports and recommendations for granting, renewing or refusing accreditation.
• Perform regular inspections and audits of accredited institutions, identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain records of accredited, suspended or revoked health training institutions and support reinstatement reviews.
• Collaborate with ministries, professional councils and other stakeholders to align accreditation standards and develop sector‑specific tools.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in medical education (required) and a bachelor’s degree in nursing, midwifery, laboratory technology, pharmacy or related fields.
• Minimum six years of experience in the health sector, including at least three years in a supervisory role within health training institutions.
• Deep knowledge of the TVET Act, 2025, national health training standards and competency‑based education.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital accreditation tools.
• Advanced use of MS Office applications for reporting and documentation.
