Senior Analyst – Forensic Investigations

About the role

The Senior Analyst – Forensic Investigations will lead internal investigations, analyse digital and financial evidence, and provide expert testimony. The role supports MTN Uganda’s fraud prevention and internal control enhancement efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, preserve, and analyse digital evidence using forensic tools such as EnCase and FTK.
• Conduct fraud detection, investigate suspicious transactions, and trace fund flows.
• Prepare detailed forensic reports, visual aids, and executive summaries for senior management.
• Collaborate with legal teams, law enforcement, and internal audit to ensure evidence meets legal standards.
• Perform risk assessments, recommend internal controls, and monitor effectiveness of fraud prevention measures.
• Lead fraud‑awareness training and stay updated on forensic methodologies and industry trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Statistics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fraud investigations, with at least 3 years in forensic specialisation.
• Technical experience in the FinTech and GSM environment and strategic understanding of telecommunications.
• Strong analytical, interview and data‑mining skills.

Required skills

• Forensic software proficiency: EnCase, FTK.
• Professional certifications: CFE, CHFI, GCFA, CISM, CISA, CEH.
• Data analytics tools for pattern detection and anomaly identification.
