Senior Auditor – IT, Network & Data

About the role

The Senior Auditor – IT, Network & Data will plan and execute risk‑based audits across MTN Uganda’s telecom technology environment, focusing on IT systems, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital platforms and data‑driven assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input to the combined assurance plan and execute financial and operational audit engagements according to MTN’s audit methodology.
• Determine audit scope, design procedures, conduct opening conferences and prepare audit planning memoranda.
• Assess risks, evaluate internal controls, develop and execute audit programs, and test control effectiveness.
• Prepare audit reports with value‑adding recommendations and facilitate exit conferences with auditees.
• Execute Continuous Controls Monitoring activities and represent Internal Audit on project teams and management meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Data Science, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal or external audit with a focus on business process assurance, information systems and operational audits.
• Strong experience in IT audit, network audit, cybersecurity assurance, telecom operations, data analytics or technology risk management.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CIA, CISM, CEH, ACCA, CPA are an advantage.

Required skills

• Practical use of data analytics tools: SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel, ACL, IDEA.
• Knowledge of telecom network architecture, IT general controls, cybersecurity frameworks, access controls, system interfaces, data governance and business continuity.
• Strong analytical, report‑writing, stakeholder management and communication abilities.
