Senior Backend Engineer – Mobility (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Join M‑KOPA’s engineering team to build event‑driven microservices that power clean, affordable transport across Africa. You will own the full lifecycle of backend solutions, from architecture to production monitoring, using modern .NET technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, event‑driven microservices on Azure (or other cloud platforms).
• Maintain and improve observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Containerise applications with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to coach, review code, and ensure high‑quality delivery.

Required profile

• Strong experience in C#/.NET development.
• Hands‑on work with event‑driven architectures and messaging systems such as Service Bus, Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Comfort with containerisation, orchestration, automated testing and continuous delivery.
