Senior Standards & Compliance Officer – Home Science Education

About the role

The Senior Standards and Compliance Officer will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of national TVET standards for Home Science education and training, ensuring compliance with the TVET Act, 2025 and related policies.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, validation and periodic review of national TVET standards for institutions, programmes, trainers and assessment systems.
• Plan and conduct institutional audits, compliance assessments and inspections, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Assist TVET providers in interpreting standards, developing improvement plans and implementing self‑assessment frameworks.
• Engage industry stakeholders, professional bodies and regulators in standards validation and capacity‑building activities.
• Maintain accurate records, generate compliance statistics and contribute to unit and departmental reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics, Fashion & Design, Tourism & Hospitality or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• At least six years of post‑bachelor experience in TVET systems, standards development or quality assurance, with three years in a supervisory role.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Basic database management skills.
