Swimming Coach

About the role

Acorns International School in Kampala is looking for a full-time Swimming Coach. The coach plans, delivers and evaluates swimming training programmes that promote water safety, skill development, fitness and competitive excellence among students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach swimming lessons to students of different ages and skill levels, covering basic techniques, strokes and water safety.
• Develop structured lesson plans and organise practice sessions and training programmes.
• Assess student abilities, monitor progress and identify talented swimmers for competitive training.
• Prepare students for inter-school swimming competitions and school sports days.
• Supervise students at all times in the pool, ensure they follow safety rules and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Maintain attendance and progress records and work with the Sports Department on swimming activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or diploma in Sports Science or Physical Education (preferred).
• Certified Swimming Coach certification from a recognised sports body or federation.
• Experience in a school or educational setting is a plus.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
