University Librarian – University of Saint Joseph

About the role

The University Librarian will provide strategic leadership for the University of Saint Joseph’s library, guiding both traditional services and digital‑transformation initiatives to support teaching, learning and research across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Library Strategic Plan, policies and operational procedures aligned with institutional priorities.
• Advise senior university management on library, information and knowledge‑management matters, including resource allocation.
• Oversee acquisition, classification, cataloguing, preservation and dissemination of print, electronic and digital collections.
• Manage electronic resources such as e‑books, e‑journals, databases and the institutional digital repository.
• Promote effective use of digital library technologies and the Integrated Library System through training and user support.
• Ensure library services meet the needs of students, faculty and researchers and comply with budgetary constraints.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science.
• Minimum five years of progressive academic library management experience, including supervisory and budget responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and drive digital transformation in an academic setting.
