Country Director – Lead Operations & Growth in Uganda

About the role

The Country Director will steer Yookatale’s operations, growth and impact across Uganda. Based in Kampala, this hybrid position blends on‑site leadership with flexible remote work to drive the company’s mission of making food accessible everywhere.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the country strategy aligned with Yookatale’s mission and values.
• Manage budgets, resources and performance metrics to ensure financial sustainability.
• Lead, develop and motivate cross‑functional teams, fostering a customer‑centric culture.
• Build and maintain partnerships with suppliers, community organisations, regulators and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with local regulations and identify new market opportunities.
• Represent Yookatale in external forums to enhance brand visibility and trust.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and people‑management experience at a country or regional level.
• Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities, including budget oversight.
• Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders, negotiate and build consensus.
• Background in business development, market expansion or social‑enterprise within food systems or digital platforms.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills with a customer‑centric mindset.
