Engineering Supervisor

About the role

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all engineering equipment, tools and systems operate safely and efficiently within a Marriott hotel environment. This role combines hands‑on technical work with staff leadership and guest service responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges and meters and operate shut‑off valves.
• Order, label and stock parts and supplies while maintaining inventory and purchase order logs.
• Conduct life‑safety checks including fire‑pump and generator run tests and inspect fire‑sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching engineering staff.
• Respond to guest repair requests and support disaster‑response protocol development.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of related engineering or facilities maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Required skills

• Calibration of equipment (controls, gauges, meters).
• Operation of power lifts and other heavy‑equipment handling.
• Life‑safety system testing (fire pump, generator).
• Inspection of fire‑sprinkler and alarm systems.
