About the role
Kampala Community International Preschool is seeking a full‑time Lead Preschool Teacher to join its on‑site team in Naguru, Kampala. You will design and deliver engaging, play‑based lessons for children aged 18 months to 5 years, creating a nurturing and secure learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate, play‑based lesson plans.
- Develop and adapt curriculum that aligns with international early‑years standards.
- Guide, supervise, and support young learners throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure cohesive classroom experiences.
- Maintain open, respectful communication with families and provide regular updates on child progress.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an early‑years setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and early‑years pedagogy.
- Confidence in play‑based, inquiry‑led, child‑centred approaches.
- Experience with international curricula and ability to differentiate learning.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct.
