About the role

The Office Assistant – Recess Duty supports school administrators, office staff, and faculty by handling routine administrative tasks and supervising students during recess periods. Working under the general supervision of the principal or head secretary, the role combines front‑desk duties with classroom‑area support.

Key responsibilities

• Process student information and maintain accurate records.
• Serve as receptionist: answer phones, take messages, make calls, and assist visitors.
• Manage and monitor the teacher’s workroom and copy center.
• Supervise students in various settings, including recess and workroom areas.
• Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and copy distribution.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Basic office and secretarial skills.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow established procedures.
• Good communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and visitors.

• Part‑time schedule: 3.6 hours per day, 174 days per year.
• Hourly wage of $18.11 (Salary Grade 4) with a minimum 5% increase upon promotion.
