Team Leader - Agricultural Insurance

About the role

OvrtiLabs Tech Systems is building a high‑performance team to deliver a major agricultural insurance project in Uganda. We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to provide strategic direction, manage multidisciplinary workstreams, and ensure successful delivery of all project outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and operational leadership across all project workstreams.
• Lead stakeholder engagement with UNDP, MAAIF, MoFPED, IRA, AIC, and financial institutions.
• Oversee delivery of project deliverables within agreed timelines and ensure quality assurance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary team members across insurance, technology, and business development.
• Represent OvrtiLabs in official meetings, workshops, and field activities.
• Lead inception planning, work‑plan development, and risk management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Environmental Science, Actuarial/Climate Risk Management, Data Science, Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience delivering complex multi‑stakeholder projects in agriculture, insurance or climate risk management in Uganda or Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Hands‑on experience implementing and managing the Uganda Agriculture Insurance Scheme (UAIS).
• Proven expertise in insurance coordination within Uganda and deep understanding of agricultural insurance ecosystems.
• Strong track record managing parallel workstreams and meeting strict donor timelines.
• Solid grounding in climate risk, food security and rural livelihoods in the Ugandan context.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
