Truck Driver – Concrete Mixers, Low Bed & Dump Trucks

About the role

The Truck Driver at GS Group Uganda will operate heavy trucks—including concrete mixers, low‑bed and dumping trucks—to transport construction materials safely to and from project sites across Uganda. The role involves coordinating with site personnel and ensuring the vehicle is maintained in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Drive concrete mixers, low‑bed and dumping trucks to designated construction sites or disposal locations.
• Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, checking brakes, tires, fluids, lights and safety systems.
• Load and unload materials using hydraulic systems, ensuring correct weight distribution and secure loads.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, inspections, maintenance and any incidents.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents or unsafe conditions promptly to supervisors.
• Perform routine truck cleaning, lubrication and basic troubleshooting.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in route planning and schedule coordination to optimise delivery times.

Required profile

• Valid heavy‑duty commercial driver’s licence for the relevant truck class.
• Minimum 10 years of experience operating heavy construction vehicles.
• Physically fit for long shifts, manual handling and vehicle upkeep.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety protocols and road traffic regulations.
• Good understanding of construction site operations and safety awareness.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
