Vehicle Maintenance Manager – US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and repair operations for a large fleet supporting a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures all military and civilian vehicles and equipment are serviced in line with contract, government, and military standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute vehicle maintenance and recovery operations per contract and military standards.
• Manage documentation, warranties, LTDD and ECOD reports, and ensure accurate records in the CMMS.
• Coordinate with managers, military personnel, suppliers, and vendors for warranty issues and asset tracking.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance at manufacturer and military level‑10, ‑20/‑30 intervals.
• Implement budgeting, cost‑avoidance measures, and track equipment usage and burn rates.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and oversee equipment parts acquisition.
• Enforce health, safety, and welfare standards for the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of maintenance and supply principles for material handling, heavy trucks, and construction equipment.
• Familiarity with US military maintenance support systems, especially GCSS‑Army.
• Understanding of DOT, OSHA, ANSI, OEM, and Military Standards.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written/ verbal communication abilities.

Required skills

• GCSS‑Army maintenance management module.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) usage.
