General Manager – Telecom & Financial Services

About the role

The General Manager will lead the overall strategic direction and operational performance of HR Studio’s two business arms – a telecom franchise focused on mobile‑money float management and a financial services unit offering logbook‑secured loans. Reporting to the Managing Director and Board, the role is based in Kampala with occasional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue growth across both telecom and loan portfolios.
• Oversee mobile‑money float distribution, liquidity management, and agent/dealer onboarding.
• Manage loan origination, credit risk, collateral valuation, and recovery processes.
• Lead sales and distribution teams to meet monthly and annual targets, optimizing territory coverage.
• Analyse financial statements, KPIs and operational reports to guide cost‑efficiency and profitability initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 48 months of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in managing telecom or financial services operations.
• Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
• Based in Kampala, Uganda, with willingness to travel as required.
