Social Studies Teacher (Grades 7-8) – 2026-27

About the role

The district is seeking a qualified Social Studies teacher for grades 7‑8 for the 2026‑27 academic year. The successful candidate will create engaging learning experiences that support students’ intellectual, emotional, physical and social development while preparing them for active participation in society.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with the district curriculum, incorporating accommodations for diverse learning styles.
• Assess student progress through formal and informal testing and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special‑education teachers to modify curricula and support Individual Education Plans.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers, and manage classroom behavior in line with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate regularly with parents, principals and colleagues to support student achievement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for Social Studies and the 7‑8 grade level.
• Strong knowledge of the subject matter and general curriculum standards.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
