Assistant Sales Manager – Yoghurt Sales, Kampala

About the role

People Pro Consulting is looking for a results‑driven Assistant Sales Manager to lead yoghurt sales and distribution across Kampala. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening distributor performance, and expanding market coverage in General Trade, wholesale and mini‑supermarkets.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales, revenue, distribution and market‑share targets.
• Develop and manage distributor relationships to ensure stock availability and route coverage.
• Lead Senior Sales Supervisors and field sales teams, monitoring performance.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand distribution in assigned territories.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, visibility and customer feedback.
• Ensure effective merchandising, product visibility, stock rotation and minimise product expiry.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Logistics for timely product availability and deliveries.
• Prepare sales forecasts, monitor KPIs and produce regular performance reports.
• Drive sales promotions, market activations and initiatives to strengthen brand presence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 5 years FMCG sales experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Experience in dairy, yoghurt or short‑shelf‑life products is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong distributor management and General Trade expertise.
• Proven ability to execute route‑to‑market strategies.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication and analytical abilities.
• Valid driving permit (advantageous).
